PlanPals helps people organize get-togethers with friends. While working on the app, we realized that AI can save a lot of time in the design process. This made it easier to build and test ideas quickly, especially when preparing a first pitch for a client.
It's an app that helps you create events and invite friends by connecting your phone with your calendar and social contacts. You can track who’s coming, buy tickets, or even collect money if it’s a private event like a house party where everyone brings something. The app helps you organize the event step by step, and also gives you nearby suggestions based on your location.

PlanPals was created to speed up the design process as much as possible. It’s a practical app for rapid iteration, perfect when you need to pitch ideas to clients without going through the full design process yourself. The goal was to make something clear, fast, and easy to present.
Using a Marvel-style cartoon with DALL·E was the fastest and clearest way to show the problem we were solving. I first used this idea at Luxoft in 2023, when we pitched to clients like Ferrari using MidJourney. Back then DALL·E didn’t exist, but when we created Emma’s story, it was the perfect tool to bring the journey to life.
Our initial wireframes, created with Uizard, focused on the core functionalities and user flows. These wireframes served as a foundation for our design, allowing us to visualize the app's structure and interactions.

Thanks to AI, we can now design faster, but that also means we have more time to focus on what really matters: strategy, problem solving, and going deeper in our work. While AI helped speed up the process and bring creative solutions, it was the human insights and ethical thinking that made sure the app truly met user needs.

We added micro-animations to guide users, give visual feedback, and enhance the overall flow of the app. These animations were first prototyped in Figma, then turned into components. The graphic shows the animated molecules that became part of those final components.
